Some time ago the founder, Iain, set up a BMW Motorcycle Touring Club. This grew in terms of both riders and the number of rides. They ended up with a formal ride every weekend and rides of up to 10 days duration developed. A nasty crash required him to rethink hobbies and an interest in 4 Wheel Driving developed from running these machines on previous farming ventures
From this new passion and with an intimate knowledge of New Zealand locations and roads, the concept of Roads Less Travelled was born. The initial purchase of a new Subaru Outback Turbo with a roof top tent and a self-contained, Signature off road caravan, became the foundation vehicles for the fleet. Both, in spite of being off road capable, are comfort plus. Accommodation options are now offered in tenting, roof top tenting, campground accommodation, motels through to 5 star plus hotel and top end farm stay accommodation.
